Sambuca di Sicilia

Sambuca di Sicilia

Agrigento

Sambuca was founded by the Arabs in around 830 with the name Zabut. During the seventeenth century the town centre was moved away from the Arab zone towards the valley. Here a main axis was initiated, Via del Corso, along which lie all the noble buildings and places of worship. Fortunately during the 1968 Belìce earthquake the town suffered little damage.
