"Istituzione Gianbecchina" Art Gallery

The art gallery, opened in 1997, is located in the Church of San Calogero and has a permanent display of 40 of the 190 pieces of Gianbecchina art donated by Giovanni Becchina himself to his birth town. The pieces are oil on canvas, watercolours, sketches and etchings that cover an arch of time between 1924 and 1996 and illustrate the artist’s prestigious path, who was born in Sambuca in 1909 and died in 2001 and considered one of the best examples of Italian twentieth century artists. The institution is not only an exhibition space but also a permanent studio in which artistic-cultural projects are born and mature, designed to enhance the potential of the territory and promote tourism.
