Borsellino's Palace
Palace
Cattolica Eraclea (AG)
The palace of the Borsellino family overlooks Piazza Roma. It was built in 1764 and restored in 1977.
The magnificent entrance portal, which rises up between two pilasters with spiral capitals that support the protruding cornice, is outstanding. This serves as the base of the balcony characterised by a very elaborate railing. The entrance has a low rounded arch whose keystone extends lengthways and widthways until reaching the cornice of the balcony. The so-called “Serena” stone from Florence was used for the refurbishment of the cornice, the skirting and the cantonal. The main entrance leads to a large atrium decorated with numerous plants of various kinds.
