Santa Margherita di Belice (AG)
The building that was once the Cathedral of Santa Margherita of Belìce, severely damaged during the 1968 earthquake, was reconstructed and today houses the Memorial Museum. Here a series of documents of various types are displayed (photos, literary quotes and paintings) that guide the visitor through the fascinating story of the Belìce Valley towns before and after the tragic night of the earthquake. The exhibition space gathers photographic material that largely belongs to archives and private collections but also audio-video documentations and collections of period newspapers and magazines. The visit ends in a multimedia hall in which a series of videos, that illustrate the story of the Belìce Valley from before the earthquake until today, are projected.
