Remembrance Park
Natural area
Santa Margherita di Belice (AG)
The area occupied by the Remembrance Park once formed part of the vast plot of land that led to the Church and Monastery of the Reformed Fathers in the XVII century. Following its confiscation, it became property of the municipality that in one area built the park. It still maintains the original name “Selva” (Forest), as it formerly belonged to the vast Forest of the Barony. In 1921 it was deemed necessary to enhance the area with the construction of a wall that encloses its spaces and of a system of dirt road pathways that lead all the way around the external edges of the garden and retrace its geometric form with simplicity.
