Agnello Palace
The Angello family arrived in Siculiana in 1797 with Stefano, son of the baron Francesco of Cefalù, and despite never having had the investiture of barony of Siculiana, they surely influenced the course of history.
Agnello Palace is in optimum condition, thanks to its large stone structure. In the summer of 1964, due to a lack of hotels, the cinematographic troupe of the film “Seduced and Abandoned” by Pietro Germi, whose female protagonist was Monica Vitti, were hosted in the palace. The actress literally ran away from Siculiana, from the heat, the absence of any kind of basic services, such as water, and a role in the film that she did not like. Her escape was the fortune of the young Stefania Sandrelli who took her part.
