Saint Michael Church
The Church of Saint Michael was founded by count Guglielmo Peralta in 1371 and later reconstructed at the wishes of Natale Amodeo in the XVII century. What remains of the first foundations are the architrave portal, a Gothic portal and some pieces of work dating between the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. The Latin Cross interior, divided into three naves, houses in particular a wooden cross in Gothic Catalan style, a XV century low relief in marble, Saint Giovanni and Our Lady of Sorrows, painted by Tresca in 1788, a marble Baptismal font from 1586 and a silver reliquary monstrance in which are preserved two thorns from Christ’s crown. The paintings that decorate the church are by Luigi Schittone.
