Santa Ninfa

Trapani

The town was established in 1609 by don Luigi Arias Giardina from Palermo who named it Santa Ninfa in honour of the much-venerated martyr, at that time Patron Saint of Palermo. Following the 1968 earthquake that destroyed 80% of the town, efforts were made to safeguard the historic centre. On the land next to the city rises the Rampinzeri Castle, which was mentioned in the novel “The Leopard”.
