From Porto Palo to Sciacca
Natural area
Menfi (AG)
On the other side of Porto Palo the coastline continues along the Serrone Cipollazzo, a sandy hill covered by dense reed vegetation. The dunes that dominate this landscape are characterised by an ever-evolving morphology linked to the direction of the winds. From here, continuing towards Sciacca and passing Lido Fioro, the other Menfi seaside resort, you arrive at Capparrina di Mare, a hilly area covered by dwarf-palms. Sea turtles sometimes lay their eggs on the beach at the foot of the hill. Proceeding towards the east you reach the Giache Bianche beach that takes its name from the large quantity of white pebbles spread along the waterline. Just beyond lies the mouth of the Carboj river that represents the eastern border of the Menfi district.
