From Porto Palo to Marinella of Selinunte
Natural area
Menfi (AG)
The shoreline that connects Porto Palo with Marinella offers a great variety of coastal scenery. In fact it leads from the Conca della Regina, a small cove in which legend has it the daughter of the Emir of Porto Palo would often bathe nude in the moonlight, to the area of Solette or Isolette (Inlets or Islets), formed by small clay hills that reach all the way to the sea creating low sandy coves. The beaches are of great naturalistic interest, as the immersed rocks and the aquatic vegetation contribute to an increase in their biodiversity with the presence of particularly shaped shells and fossils located on the reefs. The coastline continues towards the west until it reaches the Mouth of the Belìce River Nature Reserve that extends over an area of 129 hectares.
