Reddish in colour and with thick layers, it has an intense and delicate aroma, while the taste is sweet with a unique meatiness. The Sweet Onion favours the soil of the Partanna district and is exclusively grown there, besides, its spread is strictly limited to the territory of production since it has minimal resistance to any impact, precisely due to its tender consistency, and is easily subjected to attacks of mould.
