Museum of Farming Culture

The Museum, established in 1991, was the result of a school project of the “Ezio Contino” comprehensive school with the purpose of giving value to and preserving the memory of the territory. The museum is organised in three sections: farming world, home environment and life of an artisan. Over a thousand objects, employed in traditional trades, are kept here, such as the millstone for honey pressing, wooden ploughs, “la frasca” (traditional olive branch), synths, iron harrows, “sacchine” (small carry sacks) and “vertuli” (saddlebags). The most prized piece is a beautiful Sicilian Cart sculpted and painted by hand.
