Acqua Pia SPA

The Acqua Pia thermal springs are surrounded by a legend. The story goes that two young shepherds, Cinzio and Corinzia, came to bathe in the springs and carried out a sacred ritual in honour of Venus who gave them beauty and immortality: one became a faun and the other a nymph. For centuries the thermal springs of Acqua Pia were in fact called Fonte Sacra (Sacred Fountain) and their beneficial properties were enjoyed by all the populations that settled in the area, starting from the Romans. However it was only in 1976 that the fully equipped SPA in Montevago was founded, capable of adequately welcoming its guests with the building of a modern establishment. The Acqua Pia hot springs are located at 365 metres above sea-level and the water gushes out at a constant temperature of 40° from several springs in an area of 100 sq. m that meet in an ancient pool.
