Pisciotta-Calandra and Todaro-Molinari Palaces
Palace
Partanna (TP)
At the end of the main street two important eighteenth century buildings face each other.
The Pisciotta Palace has a façade dated 1799 with clear neoclassic features typical of that era, visible in the decoration style and the severe portal, which is overlooked by a balcony. Although the building has been transformed internally, it maintains its original aspect of a noble residence and still preserves its general layout with a central courtyard and a large staircase leading to the main floor.
The Todaro-Molinari Palace is instead an important example of late Sicilian Baroque architecture, characterised by the presence of a tall and austere portal-balcony, highlighted by the colour of the sandstone that makes it stand out on the white façade. It takes its name from the Todaro family that had it built in the XVIII century and by the Molinari who acquired it through marriage.
