Inland and the Magaggiaro Woods

Next to the coast the inland of Menfi also distinguishes itself for its presence of uncontaminated areas and natural scenery of great beauty, such as the Magaggiaro Wood situated a short 7 km from the inhabited centre. This occupies an area of about 850 hectares and consists mainly of oak tree specimens. In regards to the wildlife, protected by a hunting ban, there are wild rabbits, hare, foxes and some types of wild boar. The wood has an area, of about 6 hectares, equipped with tables, benches, sanitary facilities, fresh water fountains, a mini playground and a bowls pitch.
